In light of the new mask-wearing guidelines from the CDC, the Elders have decided that they will no longer require masks be worn during in-person indoor events at the Chapel. The CDC now says that due to the effectiveness of the vaccines that people have received, fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing two weeks after their final dose.
We encourage everyone to follow the CDC’s guidelines as it applies to your own situation. The CDC continues to recommend that people who have not received a vaccine wear masks and keep 6 feet of distance between themselves and others. There may also be personal reasons why vaccinated people need to continue to wear a mask, such having a weakened immune system. In general, we all should continue to take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 out of love for one another.
In accordance with our Health Policy, we still ask that you not attend services at this time if anyone in your household has experienced any symptoms–even mild–related to COVID-19 including fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
Kids’ Church and nursery will continue to be offered at our 10:30 a.m. service. At this time, we are following the guidelines established by the PA Department of Education that children wear masks inside the building. We plan to spend time outside whenever possible, so please remember to dress your kids according to the weather. We will continue to reassess the guidelines for children as we go through the summer, and keep you informed of any changes.
We realize that these are complex and challenging times. Thank you for your patient cooperation and love for others!
